sales copy on the top half of every promo page so that it can
be seen without scrolling.

More.
Readers will only scroll down if you've captured their attention. So
the first few inches of every page must captivate and draw the viewer into
your offer.
Get
it Right.
Also, proofread every promotion (including your landing page and sign-up
pages) on a monitor at 800 x 600 resolution. That's still the lowest
common denominator for a surprising number of Internet users.
