Tactics.
You should be monitoring your
market on an ongoing basis for competitive moves, changes and new
entrants. Competitive Intelligence has become an accepted
corporate function, having staff 100%-dedicated to this function.
Here are a few of our favorite sources |
|
Snoop for Online Gossip. Try newsgroups and forums such as
Google News, Google Groups, MSN, etc. At Google, enter
the company or product name you’re interested in and you’ll
see all of the messages it appeared in.
(Use "Advanced Search" for best results.)
Google News Alerts. Create a custom alert in their "News
Search" section and you'll be notified whenever a press
release is sent by the newswire services with their company name
in it.
AdGooroo.com. This service is a great tool to monitor
how competitors in your market are using Google paid search
advertising. It shows how keywords are being used in your
market; competitor's historical ads; and
it can also alert you when a new competitor enters your market.
