Workstyles. I'm analytical, pragmatic and
detailed. That means that I plan a lot in advance,
which is a key contributor to my success. Let's
discuss your workstyle.
|
IMPORTANT:
Depending on your style, you may
feel impatient in the early part of the project,
wanting it to go faster while I'm planning things
out. The second half
however usually proceeds very quickly and smoothly
as a result, so please be aware of this at the
outset. Trust me, you'll like the result. |
3.
Let's Warn Each Other re: Absences. Let's warn each
other each week if either of us will be unavailable for a day or
more during projects.
4. Communication.
Fast workplaces make communication
tough. Let's set a short routine weekly conference
call to review progress, get answers and solve problems.
Also, let's talk about learning styles. I
absorb information best visually, while others do so
verbally. Which one are you?
The more we understand
these, the better we can communicate.
5. No Charge for Travel Time -- Unless I'm Behind the
Wheel. If travel
is necessary, I typically ask clients to
reimburse for the cost of car service or cab fare to and from
airports. It's less expensive than paying me by
the hour to drive myself.
6.
Day-to-Day Client. If this
person changes, it's generally best for the two of us to meet face-to-face
to ensure a solid working relationship.
You and I should also discuss decision-making authority and how
to make a smooth transition.
7.
Sponsor/Senior Client.
To ensure a successful partnership, I typically put in a
brief monthly call to the original sponsor to confirm
that their expectations are being met and answer any
questions they may have about the project and other
industry happenings..
